My prayers are with all the people in Joplin, especially the Hot Rodders from there. We went through a similar situation in nearby Caruthersville, MO in 2006 (and ironically on a Sunday about 7PM). Luckily there were no deaths from our F4 but much devestation. It will take years for Joplin to rebuild and thru faith in GOD it WILL happen!! I live about 350 miles on the opposite south side of the state and we just dodged a bullet from the Mighty Mississippi river which has receded now to acceptable levels. I thought that someone might "p*** the hat" at the NSRA event in Springfield this weekend with the funds being sent to the Red Cross or any organization that will support Joplin...If any of you would like to talk to me while there..my cell is 573-359-5892...maybe we could talk NSRA into doing this at their booth or maybe even at the awards ceremony..Just a thought...I'll be glad to help any way I can.....again GOD BLESS all of you and thru faith you will survive....Joe

a customer/buddy of mine has a mustang that we where getting to do a upgrade on next week , has now turned into a complete rebuild! we are going to dig this out on friday am when big ken and some of the other hamb helping hands arrive.
this is his storage unit, he didn't even know where it was , until he noticed the red ford that used to be a business in front of his units.

Ryno, after talking with you this afternoon, my wife and I went to Sam's Club and bought quite a few things, including baby supplies, toiletries, snacks, etc. Got a few gift cards at Walmart. I'm also bringing a good used tarp and leather work gloves. Should be by your place around noon Sat. If I don't see you or your wife, I'll drop off things where we talked about. God bless you and all the hard working volunteers.

I linked this thread on my personal and business facebook pages and got this response, either p.m. me with the info or hit the facebook link in my sig and whoever has the info can get it directly to the guy.

"David Carsten I'm not a H.A.M.B. member but I read the thread and would like to do something to help. I took up a collection today at work and will again tomorrow. I would also like to help out with the BBQ if at all possible. I live in Ozark, Mo. so it's only about 60 mile to Joplin. If you could please find out some details for me like times and what not as I can't post on the board. Thanks."

You guys are awesome for stepping up like this.

Guys, I hate to miss this but I've got a can't miss family deal in TN this weekend but I know the folks of Joplin will really appreciate your efforts.

I was able to volunteer yesterday cutting trees and clearing debris in areas that were on the fringe of the tornado's path. I've cleaned up after a few tornados but I've never seen anything like this.

    Be safe and Thank You.

  13. Hey ryno and others involved,

I think I may have more donations than I expected in the way of clothing, alot of it for babies and toddlers. My mom and sister are donating slippers for women and children from their shop, and the company that makes them is matching their donation! Are you able to recieve many boxes or do you have a place it would be better to send to? I dont know how much stuff yet or if I will have much cash to donate after shipping but I will sure try.

Thank you guys for being on the scene, I truly feel for all involved. Thank you for motivating me to help in my little way.

    Brad

I'm part of a group of retired Firefighter/PM's from California. We are leaving later this morning for Sedalia. and will be working with the Medical Triage Units there. We had to get our Para Medic Cert's validated first by that state. It's done and adios amigos. See you all when we get back. Just because we are retired doesn't mean we suddenly forgot our skills of became stupid, does it?

I sent an email to a guy I met at a users conference a couple months ago that works for a Home Care company there in Joplin. He and is family are fine. He had one aunt that lost her house but she is fine.

His office on the other hand was a complete loss as it is a block from the hospital we keep seeing on TV. He had 10 people help him dig through the mess at his old office to retrieve all of the charts and information he needs.
He was able to get a temp office set up in a church so he could continue servicing the clients. Thankfully ALL of his patients and care givers have been accounted for. Some of them are in shelters because they lost everything but they are safe so that is a blessing.

Thank you guys that are going up there to help these people in their time of need. I wish I were able to come help physically. Since I cannot I am going to contribute with what ever I can to make sure you guys that are going have the funds you need.

    Thanks again guys
