Chris, thanks alot for your generousity! I will be in touch before heading south...

Thanks alot, I really appreciate it!! Will go towards supplies for those affected by the disaster.

Mike, it was great to meet you tonight! Thanks again for dropping of all of the supplies, much appreciated!

    Mike,
I think some $ was donated (to Ken and Ryno) to purchase five new chainsaws. I'm sure we could always use more, but don't feel obligated. I think a friend is sending one along with me, too. We should be coming through KC around 3 on Friday afternoon. Will update as I get more info...

Thanks alot, Larry! **** (Xderelict) brought over a very generous donation tonight, also.

Thanks a ton for the donation via PayPal!! I will use those funds to purchase supplies before leaving on Friday.

Mike or any other KC guys, feel free to drop stuff off @ my place. I'm home all day today and Friday. If you don't know where I live, PM me for the addy.

    See you on Friday Nick.

Oh yea, if your not outta' gas or even low.....$100 will be going with you to carry down south. I have a friend who lost a house and the ONLY thing left is a slab of concrete & I told them if I could help to let me know, but they said they are fine.

Oh yea yea, just to give a shout out to a very good H.S. friend of mine. He has this company down in Joplin & has been to the HAMB Drags a couple of times. He said that he is running his house and his neighbors with a generator.

    Nick,

Just sent some $$$ to paypal account, hope it helps. Just so you know Mike Lewis is down there as both his Mom and Dad's family live in Joplin. Sounds like the family lost 4 houses but all are safe. I'll let him know your on your way down, he might need a break since he's been down there for a few days.

    Good luck

Trailer is loaded and Nick will be heading out around noon. A huge thanks to all that showed up to help load and drop off donations. The response was overwhelming. Also thanks to Ryno for his work at the other end. God Bless all who donated in this effort and God Bless the people of Joplin. Gary

  6. Very cool Nick. I sent some cash to Ryno, wish I could be there to help.

Thanks a TON everyone! It is unreal how much was donated, and I really appreciate all of the monetary donations, too. They will go towards more food/supplies and fuel.

I have some of the greatest friends, family, and co-workers anyone could ask for. All of you have been a HUGE help when I needed it in the last few days. I can't thank you all enough!

I don't have time to post any photos right now...
Gary (hot-rod roadster) let us borrow his enclosed car trailer and it's packed full of donations. Thank you, Gary!

Also, my sister let us borrow her F350 to haul everything with. She's serving in Afghanistan right now, so please keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Thanks for everything, Mareena!

Gotta head to work for a couple hours, then we (myself and Jenny) are leaving for Joplin at noon.

Rob Lee and I took some more things over to Nick's last nite. I was so overwhelmed with the amount of donations that were there. Gary, hotrodroadster, loaned his beautiful enclosed trailer to the cause and it was packed to the hilt. With no shortage of help to pack and load the products, Gary was in the trailer packing the load and got way more than his share of the work, I wouldn't expect any less from this super dude. Nick works for one of the most prestigious architectural firms in the area and the outpouring of quality donations from them was awesome. A pallet load of bottled water as an example. We were blessed with a pickup load of pet products donated by one of the areas most concious tattoo emporiums, Liquid Courage and Sailor's Grave, they did tatt work for pet product donations and then gave it all to the cause, just and outstanding ***ortment of very needed pet care products. The product came over via one of our local music club owners and promoters Jim Johnson, a cool dude that is a gennie trad car guy, Thanx Jim. Nick's sister Mareena's beautiful Ford 350 super diesel truck is just the ticket to haul this load, stay safe my pretty little friend. I am sorry I don't know exactly who donated the huge tarps, but there were dozens of huge heavy tarps that will be very welcomed, thanx to them!! A real bevy of folks stopping by with more great things and offering any services needed. Just an outstanding effort by our hero Nick, we are truly blessed here in Omaha to have such a quality hotrod network. A lot of folks not mentioned but a super thanx to all involved. God bless America! ~sololobo~

See you this afternoon. I have a chainsaw from Cactus1 that I'm bringing along.

Here are a couple of shots from Nick's Facebook page.

Wow! He said that someone donated a pallet of H2O.

And they are off!! Rolling toward Joplin, We had a stroke of luck as Jennie noticed a silver dollar size hunk out of the right side outside dually tire. Thank god for a manual to consult and Jeff Patchin ,HiBoy 32, having some experience lowering the spare tire out of this big rig. Got that changed and they were headed to Nick's worksite to load more donations before they hit the hiway. Safe trip, a couple of pix. ~sololobo~

Slight delay going to Joplin thru Kansas City. They now have a second vehicle hauling stuff. They had WAY to much stuff & now a buddy is helping them haul after a reload. This RULES from the out pouring of donations & help that everyone is doing. I will try to get some shots of them when we touch base in KC as they roll thru & play "tag" to meet up.

    Go Nick Go!

No problem, I told him that a buddy of mine might tag along and film it for the evening news & I think that it made him "blush". I will keep you guys updated after he gets here & thank goodness it is not hot out with those trailer tires & his sisters truck (by the way to his sis' in Afghanistan, STAY safe!!!).

Glad to see the trailer load was re-distributed. When I was at Malcom's house yesterday, the trailer tires were totally BULGING! I checked them to see they recommended 50 PSI on the sidewall print and there was only 35 in them...Malcom pumped 'em up before he left but it was apparent the trailer was super overloaded. Hope everything is going ok..

Finally had a chance to check in here... we are safe and sound at Ryno's! Time to get some rest and be ready for a day of work tomorrow.

I owe a ton of people a BIG Thank You. Within 15 minutes of figuring out how overloaded we were (and asking for help on Facebook, we had about 10 great friends helping us move the 100+ cases of water to two pickups and a van. We then repacked the trailer and all is well! Pulled down here perfectly!

Had a little problem with the truck- a turbo hose clamp split in half and blew the hose off the turbo. We were VERY lucky to be only a half mile from a truck stop that had us back on the road in 15 min and wouldn't let us pay them!

Chris, thanks for posting the photos, the chainsaw from Cactus1 Mike, and the generous donations!

Also, a friend from Omaha (Mike Doran) offered to follow us down in his van, to bring items we couldn't haul and help out the next couple of days..... and did so with hardly any notice! GREAT DUDE.

A co-worker and his wife will also be down with pickup and trailer tomorrow with the rest of the water and other items.

Man I thought the trailer tires looked stressed as Nick pulled out of the driveway. A big thanx to all that helped relieve the big load. Everyone has been so helpful at every turn on this project. The scene in Joplin looks rough as rain and storms continue to haunt the area. I feel some guilt for not being down there to help, a big salute to everyone who is there to support the folks of the Joplin area. Angels flying close to the ground. ~sololobo~
