Tornado in Joplin

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Stude-sled, May 22, 2011.

  1. Hey fellas I am hijacking again, but rather than start a new thread I know that everyone is already watching this one.

One of the group of tornados that i was dodging hit sedalia, Mo looks like it tore some stuff up, not as bad a joplin but still some damage. I know we got some fellas down that way, Fat Assed Whitewalls for one.

If someone can get ahold of any of them and check that would be a plus. I don't have any contact info on any of them.

Down here they say no more clothes for right now. They have so much they can't get them all sorted. Hundreds of volunteers have been sorting clothed for days and still have not made a dent in what has been donated so far. They say that they need to get this stuff delivered to those in need before they can handle another wave of clothing donations.

They say that toiletries are still wanted or monetary donations.

Sociallydistorted so sorry to hear about your Dad. You, your Mom and the rest of the family are in my prayers as well as the rest of Joplin.

  6. Ok here in Sedalia, no loss of life. I have no damage. Took out a trailer park. They always seem to find one of those. Some businesses got hit pretty hard as well as some houses. All on the south east side of town. I watched it form. The sirens went off two or three times. We don't have safe shelter at work, so we just kept one eye open, and kept working. It passed within about 1/2 mile of my Mother in laws house. Sun was out for my ride home after work. Dean

Last activity from him was at 7:57pm Monday. Hopefully that means he is on his way home.

I guess I missed that post. I thought we were still looking for a way to utilize PayPal. Is this listed on PayPal's site? Is it on a "sticky" post here?

The fans, racers and employees of Mo-Kan Dragway raised $5554 for Joplin tornado victims during the Memorial Day weekend race. Most of that was raised by a group of Jr Dragster racers who sold 50/50 tickets. The winners of the drawing turned the money back to the relief fund both days!

Bobby Beyer III won Saturday night and had no problem handing back the almost $1400. Bobby is 14 and bought the winning ticket with his own money and made his desision without consulting anyone. He jsut felt it was the right thing to do!

This money was given to CORE Ministries who will work with Joplin area churches to identify and help those most in need!

  23. That is pretty damned cool.

Get contact info for CORE Ministries for me will ya? Our grandaughter is trying to raise money on her own, her own idea and she has been asking me about the right place to put what she raises.
