after two years and a lot of learning by trial and a lot of error i finally got my first traditional hot rod running. I couldnt have done it without the HAMB and a few of its members. Theres still a lot to button up before she goes more than down the block but I couldnt be happier. I am looking forward to getting out to the Lifters show in Barona and the ACES show this summer. My little brother threw a video together and I will post some pictures. Let me know what you guys think. Constructive criticism is fine but if your going to be mean just keep our mouth shut. THanks again http://vimeo.com/24372340
here are some pictures of it. It is a 27 touring, on 32 frame with a 40 ford front end with 40 juice brakes, and a 50 ford rear end with juice brakes. It has early ford wires on it. Motor is a 1956 265 chevy with dual quads and a 3 speed manual trans. The indian head hood ornament is an old brass piggy bank. I stitched all the interior by myself from army surplus tent fabric thats why they look so sketchy
With the stache and the cap, if you film it in black and white it'll look just like a 50 or 60 year old video. I'm happy for you and your ride.
There isn't much better than turning that key and hearing your project start after years of hard work. Congrats.
Haha yeah dude thats awesome! You gotta do a short film of you starting and it and driving or something in black and white or even in sepia. And if you do it in some super small old town and maybe some dirt road action, it would be perfect. Either way man thats a cool tub
Now that's nice! I really like the tent fabric - been thinking about something like that for my roadster door panels. Post up another video when ya get it going down the street.....
Awesome. I'd love a tub. There was one at a swap meet this weekend but I would have been homeless if I brought it home.
Just aw this thread. Nice tub. Curious how well the body fit on the 32 frame? Did you have to narrow it up? Would love to hear how you fit the body. Thanks. J
The body actually fit pretty well on the 32 frame. The rails were pinched to fit a model a body by whoever had it before me. All we did was move the body a few inches forward to where it lined up nicely on the rails then trimmed the subrails in the rear around the hump in the frame. I was pretty pleased with the result.
That is a cool car! Are you going to put a back seat in it? I like the fact you can get 4 people in it and head down the road. Good times.
