hey there guys, hoping for a little quick insight, hopefully the links work:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Ford...ptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

^^okay that link is to a kit with just the basic brakets i believe, no rotors or anything of that sort included, its about 200 after shipping and everything.

    then there is this one:

    http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/57-5...tZVintageQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fAccessories

thats the full conversion kit for 665 after shipping and everything, definatley out of my price range right now!

but my question is.... the link that has just the basic brackets and such, would that be much cheaper to build? buying the rotors and everything else seperate? or is that kit for 665 better to buy, and cheaper?

im getting to the point now where i need to start buying some of this stuff to get the '58 back on the road again, i need to buy some headers for my 460, but those alone are 400, so i need to do some savin up. just curious about this conversion kit stuff though, thanks guys. and yea i have looked up the granada swaps on here, just wondering which route would be less damaging to my wallet :)

call Crites restorations in Ohio. They have a set of plans for all the stock ford parts you need.

i work with a real parts house,,that looks at books ,so i buy the basic kit ,and get my rotors for 8 dollars ,my calibers for 12 dollars and about 4 bucks each for bearings,,,but if you dont have any juice and have to pay list its worth getting it all,,,when you start buying grade 8 bolts it starts to run up fast...by the way speedway is pretty close on there hardwere prices

  4. I used the Scarebird brackets, bearing spacers and parts list found on ebay. Scarebird folks responded quickly with questions to fix how I screwed up.

Got Scarebird parts list -rotors, bearings, calipers hoses, etc - from Rock Auto on line. Used local for the plumbing hardware. Worked out great.

The first kit is by Scarebird. You may want to check with him directly, I think he's a HAMB vendor.

i would by the bracket kit and piece together the rest. you will be ahead $$. there is no way you will spend $400 on mustang rotors and s10 calipers.

    Thanks for the thumb ups.

We now offer a lighter duty setup that will fit inside the stock 14" rims if desired.

Buy the spindles but buy all the other parts someplace else . That way you can shop around and even pick up good used parts from guys that have up grades their Mustangs !

    Scarebird!!!
The problems I had were because of me. A well thought out mix of hardware.

Remember, the only thing between you and that dump truck is your right foot and the stuff it is hooked to. This is one place where saving a few bucks vs buying a proven system does not make sense. Spend well and stop quick!!
