Hello all! My name is Dan and I'm your newest member for the moment. I'm new to rodding but have loved these cars for as long as I can remember. Last year I picked up a 1936 Plymouth 4 door Convertible. 350 sbc with 400 Turbo trans. Mustang II front and Chev 10 bolt rear. Originally it was a hard top but somebody over the years had the brilliant idea to cut that baby off and turn this thing into something much meaner and much sweeter. And I want to thank him for that! Anyways, enough rambling. On with the pics! Here she is when I got her. These are the only pics I have with the top on: As you can see that that thing was big, bulky, ugly and heavy as hell! It had to go! Since I've taken ownership of the Plymouth I've added Porter Mufflers and am currently reworking the trunk to house a drawer for storage, as well as beef up the sound system a little with a 12" Kicker Solo Barick. I want to make the car look like it has a top under a boot but in all reality there will be no top on this thing. Plain and simple, this thing does not get driven unless it's 70 and sunny so why the hell do I need a top? Eventually I want to build a removable fibergl*** hardtop that will bolt into this box I'm building but honestly, that's pretty far down on the to-do list. Here's some pics of the trunk build: I still need to find someone to build me a simple "boot" for the imaginary top and I need to wrap the box in leather but overall it's coming together really well for what I want to do with it. For now... Here's a few of the glamour shots if you will: Looking forward to networking, bsing and learning!
I should mention that the other hole in the trunk box is going to be a flush drawer that pulls out to store the cleaning stuff and other Misc ****. The sub is a 12" Kicker Solo Barick. I used to be BIG into stereo's and sound stuff so I'm just using some **** I have laying around. It's not gonna be one of those crazy t******* sounds systems, just a little extra something.
Hey Dan, Welcome to the HAMB! Glad you found this place, it's a lot fun and great info. Car looks sweet!
