New to the board, thought I'd post a few photos of our latest project. It's a HiBoy '29 Ford Briggs Blind Back Fordor Sedan on a Duece style frame. I just set the body on the frame today and started fitting the rear valance to the Duece gas tank. I'm going to have to find another set of rear wheels, as the ones I had on hand don't have enough offset to clear the body. The car will have a 454 and a 700R4 in an open engine compartment with a chopped Duece grill and shell. I plan on painting the car satin black with a gloss paint on the engine and wheels, just haven't picked a color yet. Next up on the to do list is mounting the engine and tranny and building the firewall and floor.
Looks good, It's refreshing to see one left as a fordor, rather than shortened into an extended pick-up cab.
I've always had a soft spot for fordors. My first car was a '50 Chevy Fleetline fordor that I traded a motorcycle for when I was fifteen. I owned a '40 Chevy fordor sedan hot rod a few years ago and had a mild custom '51 Plymouth fordor sedan 20 years ago. I plan on the '29 being a fun, practical, do anything car. I've got a trailer hitch spreader bar that was on my '32 Roadster a few years ago that will go on it and it will eventually get air and a nice interior.
that's a 60C low production#s from what I read. I've got one exactly the same... well all stock anyway.... it's waiting on the back burner for other projects to clear out!! Looks good!!!!!
Yea, it's a 60C. I was cutting the rear apron this afternoon and my daughter made the comment that somewhere a Model A collector had just burst into tears and didn't know why!
