Im going to be the negative nancey on this one... Parts for that thing, interior exterior trim etc... are rarer than rocking horse shit. I know from experience I had one. To get it on the road including purchase price and have it presentable will probably run you $5,000 to $6,000 and thats not getting fancy, all for a car that will be worth around $3,000 to $4,000 when its done. But if you love it and are building it to keep forever go for it. just my opinion :)

parts aren't too bad to find... http://oldmoparts.com
but it's true that it won't be worth what a Ford or Chevy of the same year would be, maybe someday?

IF ... you have to ask
It is most likely NOT the project for you.
    :)

Nothing worse than having your money and time tied up in a PROJECT that you do not really want.

I only buy the stuff I really, really want. No impulse buys or projects. Even then, sometimes I get almost burned out on them. I cannot imagine having something to work on that I DID NOT know whether I wanted it or not at purchase time.

    .
PLUS ... it is not the most popular project so unloading it could be difficult

Right, the bottom car is glass. I'm NOT liking it!! The top one is good, but really- it's WAY over played. Fake patina is the next flat black.

I just cut my 50 Dodge up this weekend. Just so happens I saved the front and rear glass...

  21. I might could muster 600 for a project like that if I needed or wanted one.

Hell for the price you could clean it up and sell it less drive train for more than that easy to help fund your other project.

The only thing worse than patina in my opinion is fake patina. I never understood rebuilding an entire car and not painting it...just silly. Now if you just toss a motor in it and drive that's another story.

I've had '48, '51, and now a '50 Plymouth Coupe and I like 'em cause you just don't see 'em everywhere. My '50 looks bone stock, but has 360, 727 Torqueflite, Volare rearend, VintageAir, front discs, and will drive anywhere. Early-mid 70s Dusters and Darts make great donor cars for drivetrains. 318/340/360s all hotrod fairly easy and are reliable. Glad you "saved" it...keep us posted.
