For the 2 door "A" body GM cars 49-50 which are Chevy, Pontiac Olds 76/88 and excluding convertibles and hardtops, where in the door does the measurement differ between the 2 dr sedan, coupe and fastback. Reason is that I need a drivers side door with a good inside and bottom and can't find one for a 2dr sedan and hope to widen the search some. For some reason I recall that the differences were above the belt line.
In measuring, I couldn't find a difference in the 2 door sedan and fastback doors other than the window frame is taller in the sedan than the fastback.
Bobert, I have a brand new inner skin L lower door(EMS). My new bodyman is so good he didn't need it ! PM me if interested. You wouldn't be near Lake Falls Division 60446-would you?? Fly
Thanks to all. I'll check with the ace body guy. Larry, if you stumble on this give a call. The part needed is the left. Don't need or want the outer skin since the door is so bad that the plan may be to replace the skin up to the crown area. Fly, I'm probably close to a Lakewood Falls as there are a few. Actuall, I'm in Grand Haven which is an, ahem, "active adult community". Some are more active than others.
i have a '49 pontiac silver streak fastback , 2dr. i too would like to find a complete nice door. mine as perfect until the driver door opened while being towed backwards....I put a Chevy 2dr post door on it temporarliy , but yes had to cut off the window frame as the normal sedan is taller. the rest fits OK, not perfect at the hood, but likely just needs adjustment. if anyone has a nice door, please let me know...thanks
Thanks to all who replied. I did get a good '52 Chevy door out of Colorado which was shipped via Greyhound. It arrived in good shape and is now on the car.
