I have recently started in on a F100 Unibody. I got this beast out of a field and on the road after trading it off and trading it back. Dude I sold it to was gonna s**** the body and had great plans for the frame that probably would have never happened. Now that I have it back I am trying to get it ***tled. Naturally, the south east has taken a toll on the truck in the past years and has left no place for a VIN except the driver door, wich you can barely read. I need to know what year this truck is if anyone can help me. I know it has the 223. in it and I ***ume its a later 223 since the bolts are around the valve cover and not in the middle. I was told it was a 61 but I have seen one other truck with the same grill and I THINK it was a 63. Oh yeah, I have yet to see another truck that had the trim run all the way down the side. Not saying they dont happen but I aint seen one yet.
its stamped on the frame rail too visible from the engine compartment, i forget which side..think its on the p***enger.
Only tag in the glove box was the was the oil weight chart. I thought I read somewere that the VIN on the frame rail was only visible when you removed the cab from the frame. Anyway, I looked and didnt see anything on the rail.
I just found a VIN decoder on Ford Truck Enthussiast. Turns out to be a 62 Uni from Kansas City here I come.
