No, Ive noticed when sedans are chopped and the window is moved forward you move the package tray too...well seeing I just wanna lay the gl*** down I wanted to see if it was necessary to move the package tray too?

Don't move the back window forward at all. It will look bad.

Im not planning on it,but does the package tray need to be moved when you lay the window down?

  7. i did'nt move the rear beltline forword on my tudor sedan. i still ended up cutting the package tray free everywhere except the braces behind the rear seat. i just pushed package tray forward a little to meet the new slope of the roof.

no you dont need to move the package tray .

  9. the package tray is welded just below the rear window. it is moved forward a few inches due to the steeper slope of the roof due to the chop. this is a 4 and 7 chop, if your chop is more mild you may not need to move it much at all.

  20. Hey brother might not be much help or u may have seen this already but I am doin a thread on my 50 coupe and just started the chop last weekend. Check it out on my profile and see what u think of our way of doing it. The last thing I wanted to do was move the rear screen forward and loose that qaurter window size.

In my opinion, it's all about the proportions of the car overall, which I think you're in the neighborhood with 3 and 4-1/2 but maybe you should consider scaling it back considering the section treatment (which is nicely done and tasteful btw). Admittadly, I didn't chop my car but I think the secret is in the compound curves of the sail panels. Check our Ian Berkies chops to see what I mean. I'm not sure how he does it, but he nails it each and every time.

Wish I could help but mine is a Victoria. I think what would be crutial is to be sure to get the front windshield lips for the rubber really lined up for the plate gl*** to fit. $.02

Don't mean to come off like a hussy. It'll be 10 years on 9/8 that I have been working on ol' fuzzy. Plenty of "build" pics if you go back through my posts over the last 9 years. AS far as the windshield leaking, I think that will be the least of your concerns if the cuts are square and straight. I have TONS of pics, so if you need anything, just let me know....
