I can store a couple cars outside safely, and some small stuff inside safely. Wish I were closer with my truck and small trailer......

  4. If he comes here I have a 30x40 barn to put stuff in......

My hat is off to you Porknbeaner.....

Yep. I used to help a buddy who lived in a pecan bottom. First flood emptied shop and house. After flood subsided raised house one story. Second time emptied shop, house OK but shop was swiped by another floating house. Rebuilt. Third time emptied shop, disassembled shop with sawsalls and loaded everything onto flatbeds. Rebuilt. Fourth time repeat but finally threw in the towel and rebuilt on higher ground. I hate to say it, but should have done that the first go around. Much less hardship and misery.

You have more time than we ever had. Take advantage of it and salvage everything you can.

PS. We go past Hamburg on I29 many times a year. The mighty Missouri is just too close.

  17. OK fellas I think we're gonna get wet. Sioux City is already getting wet.

I can fly today if I need to.

I gotta really thank all you fellas for the help. I was really only expecting a strong back and a truck or two. You're all the greatest.

    good luck to Joe.

  22. Just got off the phone with Joe. he said he really appreciates the offer of help and certainly didn't expect anyone to help him. He has made arrangements and doesn't need us to come.

I don't doubt that he will post a thread about his future plans.

I want to say that I really appreciate everyone that has offered to help and sent in donations. I will make sure that you are reimbursed unless you contact me and tell me otherwise. Once again you have proven that the HAMB is about people as much as it is about cars. I know that I am a little gruff at times but believe me when I say that you are the greatest bunch of people on the planet.

The house that Ryan built is a damned good place to live, you all have made it that way.

  26. As Proud as men can be sometimes I say we send him the donations regardless.. I know I've refused a hand that way out of pride until it was forcefully shoved into my pocket by people who cared.. I don't have much but I'll still send a few bucks to that account listed..

You are a bad ass, Beeno! There are sure some HUGE hearts in this place.

(I'm still gonna call you a prick tho.....)

  28. Yeah and if you read your History the scenario played out in that movie actually happened.. Not the first time "OUR" government decided they should bury our lives in water.. Hope everything works out for Joe..

  29. Benner, good on you for having the forethought to get this rolling. Glad to hear that Joe has things moving forward and out. If you speak to him again, the PM I sent you earlier regarding help still stands.
