Update- Its going to Ron Magnus Interiors in Rialto on June 19th. They will have it for three weeks. Rick @ EXK will get back and finish her up!!!! P.S. No trailers for me! DRIVE THAT *****!
I'm reserving judgment until I see the finished work. That said, I've never really been big into flames, and I don't know how traditional yours are going to come out... However, the actual paint work is sick, regardless of how you like your flames.
Rick everything you guys touch turns to gold. For some reason I think I have seen the layout of the flames and scallops done before on one your mercs. Or I could be mistaken. Did you make it to Santa Maria? I had to sit this one out. I still owe ya the beer
Bob, I was going to do a basic interior. Then Ron Magnus showed up at ricks shop. So i was invited to Magnus's shop and see the work he does. He is expensive but is top notch. Color wise white/offwhite with a blue metal flake rope, black carpet with chrome flecks in it. Style wise, Ron is going to design something traditional (horseshoe style) but with an edge like the car. One of the main things he is going to do is fit me in the car. I'm 6' 4 and i'll fit perfectly when he's done.
this car has EXK signature allover it. i personally like the flame design and the layer trick, and me too im no fan of ghost flames. I would love to see this in person but i know it will more than likeley never happen. A good resolution pictuure in the sun would make me happy still. Cant wait to see pics of the interior.
Heres a little update. This is the steering wheel going in Tims merc. It's hard to see but it is painted in metal flake. Tim has decided to out line the flames in black thin line stripping with a degine to the hood & trunk. Wild Bill will be going the stripping early next week.
Wild Bill the stripper finished up all the stripping this thursday afternoon so we quickly layed down the final top coat of clear to see the overall look. The slightly lighter blue metal flake flames with black stripping hight lighting them made them pop even more. If you could see it in person it looks tastfully wicked like a kustom should.
i think it looks awesome...i dont think those are ghost flames...they have an outline to it. i saw jesse james' merc and its the same deal only with scalops instead of flames, and it dosent look like no "street rod" to me i bet it would look great with some pinstriping...IMHO
Ok i have had it with this s#&t poor econemy. Went to one of the polisher i have been using for about 10 years last week to pick up the stainless steel firewall cover and innner fender extinions i made for this car but they where no where to be found The owner of the shop who is always there was not and it looked like they are closing down. So with a short dead line to have Tim's merc at Ron's shop i quickly made up a new firewall cover and inner fender extinions out of plain steel and painted the firewall cover the same candy blue as the car and Wild Bill added a few licks.
