We are headed to Daytona Beach this week on vacation. Is there any Hot Rod stuff going on this week, or any shops I should visit on the trip?

    Thanks,
    Kevin

First leg of the Hotrod Power Tour starts tomorrow in Cocoa Beach (down the coast road from Datona) and ends in Valdosta, Georgia. You might research to see if there's a spot near to to watch the cars pass.

We saw a shit load of Hot Rods headed south today. Best one was a Shelby GT 500 KR. Tag said REALONE. Pretty cool to see a super high dollar car like that rolling down the interstate at 80 on bias ply tires. I'm going to see where they come through, so we can see the parade.

Didn't even think about the Garlits museum, gotta do that.

What night is the Kissimee Cruise in?

Anybody else? Maybe some shops to see?

We were coming north on 95 from daytona beach earlier today. That explains why we saw so many cool cars heading south. I was wondering the same thing.

We try to see the ocean at LEAST once a year. If we can see some Hot Rods along the way then it's even better. Florida is great, but can't wait til next summer for Cruise Paradise in Hawaii.

We are headed to Cocoa Beach at Port Canaveral in the morning for the Powertour kickoff.

Thanks for the info guys, nothing like the Hamb to help you find some old cars.

  10. Theres a shop in daytona that specializes in Hemi's, sorry I dont have the name handy, and if your a Harley go-fast guy, you need to stop at Carls.

  21. Power Tour this morning was incredible, wasn't it? Ride-On, Carl is a bit of a legend in the Harley world, don't know how the heck I forgot about Total Performance, bring plenty of film/memory and a camera if you go to Big Daddy's musuem- fair warning. Oh and don't feed the gators

Warren does live in Paradise... I posted a bunch of pics from the last time we were there. Cruise Paradise '09. Hence the name right?

Powertour was great... Wish I could post pics, but the Hamb is not Droid friendly...

Back to the regular vacation stuff now... Beer, sun, sand, salt & seafood.

    Garlits museum is next.....!

The wife and I were out riding our bikes on the beach this morning. We needed a little air in the tires and stopped into a cool old service station on A1A just north of Daytona. Hiding in one of the bays was a perfect '28-30 Nash sedan. Dark blue.... Nice!

We saw a terrible wreck on the way back, but no riot yet.

Anybody else seen the 30's Nash tooling around Daytona?

Thanks for the heads up on this one. I knew it was there but didn't think about it. What an unreal collection of history. Everybody that goes anywhere near central Florida needs to see the Don Garlits museum. Awesome!
