Who can help me with my spindles? Is there a modern use for a reamer of the same size? Does someone want to rent out a reamer?

I cant find a reamer in the shop that will work, and I dont want to stretch an adjustable to far and ruin it.

    Thanks for the help!

I have the best results having spindle bushings honed, rather than reamed. Any engine machine shop should have the ability to do it. It gives a smoother finish and lasts longer.

Truckaline or Catco in Eau Claire can probably do them. Truckaline has evening service hours. If you make an appointment they can likely do it while you wait.

That is the best way to get the best job. Any engine machine shop with a Sunnen hone can do the job and should be able to do a lot better job than using a reamer. It is the same machine that they use on connecting rod ends to either resize them or fit the pressed in small end bushings. It will take them longer to put the correct mandril in than do the job most likely.

Here is a good video that shows and explains exactly what Evens and 3 97's and I are talking about. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iw0-vPhRuCo

I am a machinist... or was before I joined the ARMY, I just dont have the right tool. I tried to find an adjustable reamer to achieve the correct size but notheing we have will work. a proper reamer should give a beautiful finish?

I would think a hone could go over size easy? I will call up those places in EC. Do big rigs use the same reamer size?
