I am going to upgrade my 54 Chevy to a Mustang 2 frontend. I am wanting feed back on the bolt in crossmember from Kimbridge Industries. The reason I am looking at their crossmember is that it uses stock a-arms. I have a rebuilt front mustang 2 front end that I got cheap from a friend. I have doing this on a tight budget. I also like the Kimbridge front end because you can use power steering.
Don't know about Kimbridge, never heard of 'em in fact, but I have used the bolt in unit from Ch***is Engeneering in Iowa. It is an excellent unit. Some times you have to be careful about what you want, those frames are real flexible. Power steering, power disc brakes, larger more powerful engines, more efficient power trains, and faster more spirited driving all put additional stress on the ch***is. Good products usually establish a good reputation quickly. Just food for thought.
Speedway has kits to use stock arms but I dont think any of them are bolt in. Is bolt in a key selling point or are you good with just using stock arms. They also offer all the oem m2 replacement parts and bushings
I have been told not to weld a crossmember into a 49-54 Chevy frame because of the way the frames are put together. I know that Kimbridge industries supplied the crossmembers to RB's Obsolete when they were in business.
They did supply to Rb's. I just got one of there kits for my 38. Installed like a champ. The Car is sometime away from driving so no opinion to give.
