So I headed out with the Barons minus Sandman and HRH , plus a few other great folks, today for the New Braunfels Swap. This dude is selling a T roadster body. The pics don't really do it justice, this thing was ****. He wanted $2600 dollars for the thing!? Even funnier, he has a 29' roadster PU with a bed for $1800 next to it. As we're walking away the guy says, I've got more bodies for sale! Thank god my buddy Joey opened his mouth before I did and responded very kindly. We parted as the man said, "Are you guys the Continental Club?".
Man, I'd like to talk to the person who buys that, I got some ocean front property in AZ for sale that he might be interested in Drew
Had the same thing happen to me. Guy had $2000 painted on 27 roadster body that was ****!! "steel is real" makes people looney.
hey TX peps that body looks nice to use up here in the rustzone way to high but way better then what i am starting with but is bout $2000 more then i would pay for it
That price is outta line regardless where you live! You shoulda told him you were Chip Foose. I'll bet that owns that T for a loooong time to come.
Nah, spent most of the day helping little old ladies in the car corral. I wanted to say, "no sir, that would be a large building on Congress". I don't look much like Jesse James. With better hair I might p*** for Cole, but he's way too cool to be famous.
he probably watched the barret-jackson auction and figured that was dirt cheap. did he have it marked as a "resto-mod" project?
He probably just figured all you Texans were rich. Sad thing is,some idiot will pay him that and the price loop will continue. There will always be some ****er with more money than brains-it's been me once or twice.
Well it looks like I owe metalshapes at least 10 times what I paid for the old altered body, and I better raise the price by twice on the little dodge. I sorry thing is that someone will pay that and be happy all the way home.
Hey Crease... Me and some friends were looking at that turd also...I dont think there was anything savagable with that body. It looked like crumpled paper!!! I almost got that 6-log setup for a SBC though that was around the corner though!!
Spark...bubble-bubble-bubble...inhale...**COUGH** COUGH COUGH ** I'll take a pound of whatever that cat is smoking.
Hell, five years from now, IF, (and that's a big IF!) the economy recovers, you'll wish you bought that fine piece of cheap tin!
He is just trying to make fibergl*** look affordable. Probably a conspiracy put together with the guys from gibbons to sell ratrod roller kits.
