While they all aren't so on topic, here are some shots of cars I reallly liked Saturday on an out n back run to the Cape (of all the thousands of muscle cars, late models and vettes!) and Old Town. Why do people bring 2011 Camaros and Mustangs to car shows? I got to the Cape early-on, and some cars were still rolling in when I left about 2PM. Anyone go to the Friday evening strip event in Cocoa? There was a pretty big vendor area at the Power Tour show, and ifn you needed Year One type stuff you probably dug it. But I did get a new Currie catalog. The car count was down at Old Town, probably due to the Power Tour show and a new monthly show at Church Street Station in Orlando. Anyone go there? Gary The Power Tour pix are first....
Thanks for the Cool Shots of the great cars. Old Town is a neat kind of place and it takes you back to a different era in time known as Old Florida.
Thanks for the pics...I especially like the station wagons...the Nash(?) is wild..I love the "Imported from Detroit" thing. Yes, the new car at car shows trend seems to be growing...hell, they don't even have to clean 'em! It's so boring. For the uninitiated, where is Old Town? I'm ***uming the "cape" is Cape Canaveral.
Sorry... Old Town is a small "tourist orientated" shopping area in Kissimmee (Orlando), just east of Disney off I-4. The Cape is correct, the show was in the cruise ship terminal area. Spectator parking ****ed, but there was plenty space for show cars.
The T is my Dad's car. It is a replica of the C/SR he raced in New England during the Mid-60's.The project started when we recovered the homemade intake, headers and both 1965 Quads he gave to a friend when we left CT in 1981. We built it as close to the original as we could using photo's from the original build. We got into several good arguments, he wanted to "improve" it by lowering it, coil overs, 2x3 square tube frame ect... you see who won the arguments. I has Model A rails, semi-eliptical rear springs, long traction bars. The engine is a 292 Chevy Dual Quads, 194 heads w/ bolt in lumps. It's not a show winner, but it had a steady gathering of people trying to figure it out.
