Yesterday was the 41st running of the "Antique Nationals", The even for the past few years has been at the "Fontana Speedway", which is a great facility with a well-groomed 1/4 mile track.

So, here's the photos, in no particular order......if you enjoy what you see, bump it back to the top so it won't sink into the "HAMB Thread Graveyard".
Also, there are more photos than "necessary" for some subjects, but that's because the subjects are HAMB members.

Our Dean Lowe and his blown roadster pickup being reunited with the Stude that he drove at El Mirage about 50 years ago.
Dean had a long talk with the current owner about it's history, details, etc.
The owner is really into the car's heritage, so it appears to be in good hands.
I'll let Dean fill you folks in with the details...

I stood there for a moment and looked at this and damned if I wasn't back at Lions, but for a few brief seconds....all I needed was a smell of those oil refineries and I would have thought I'd died and gone to Heaven....

This is the thread I have been waiting for - good to his word, Mazooma stopped on by to say hi and then excused himself to go on his photo Safari. Thanks Doug for this prodigious body of work and for your photos and kind words about the Willys....

  4. Nice Doug - More to come?
And to think I spent the day cutting out and repairing Rust damage on an old Ford.

Great pictures, it was good to see the red flathead powered B-8 altered roadster again. I installed the roll cage and the rear suspension for Dave Phillips who built and raced it back in the 80's

Man...this event is still the main one, isn't it?
I attended in 1977, never made it since (my shop kept me confined!)

Julian had just bought the R&C '29 Highboy from Bud Bryan, and brought it out. (turtledeck was still in primer)
Roy Fjasted had his black Deuce sedan, and gave me an example of his new "Hotrod" script.
Kong Jackson talked to me at length, as we watched "Long Pat" Ganahl race his '47 Chevy sedan.
One of my best days ever. Hated to miss this one. Thanks, Mazooma. Almost like being there!
