well,,i shortened the bed and threw it and the cab on the frame to start getting an idea how much i need to channel the cab and bed and rework the kick in the rear end,,.. NO,...ITS not gonna ride that high! but ,, this is how i start ,,then work my way getting it were i want it to sit,,its gonna be alot lower, but not dragging rockerpanel low,,,well see.. anyways this was the first time i mocked the truck up since the bed was shortened and the top chopped(still not done!) so i drug everything inside and threw it together,,dont LAUGH! , well its is so weird because i got that dejavu feeling after it seeing it all leaning together,,almost like that movie groundhog day..(pic from a couple years ago) thought id share,.. later, sam
When i turn 18 im gonna go to DejaVu, you can come if you want. Its gonna be a great time. hahaha,,,,,,,,,,,,lookin good sam......,,,,,,,,,,,,you use a lot of commas. Nick
I started to put on your other post....Didn't you do this once already? You change projects more than I change underwear...wait, that didn't sound right.. Ok, I hereby claim first shot at buying it when you get it half finished and decide to sell it...you want to work out the details now or then ? Brain
that was a truck i built "fenderless farm truck(TM)",,it felt weird cuz putting this truck together in the same spot ,,just felt weird... Brian,,i did post about this truck last week ,,after i chopped the top and the cab was sitting on the floor,,, i just wanted to share my joy ,,it felt cool today that its starting to SOMEWHAT looking like a hotrod,, ..i thought you guys liked talking about hotrods? hhahaaha id rather change projects two or three times a year than be like some guys and be "building" the same car for the past 5 + years and not doing a damn thing but talking about it,,....
Thanks. I guess I missed that one somehow. I'm gathering parts for a similar project (who isn't? ) I've got a '39 Chevy cab that I want to channel but it has a really nice subframe. How can I channel it without distroying it?
What fun can you have if you don't destroy it? Come on Donzie, if we didn't destroy something there wouldn't be any reason for us to exist. Frank
Mr. ****, I like it. I have a 36 Chevy truck that I plan on turning into a "king rat rod" machine too. I figured I needed a vehicle that was OSR worthy since the spacetruck is "too high dollar". Maybe I will call it the "spacetruck light" since it will not have any paint. Nick, I have been to the 'Vu it kind of ****s. Yes, they leave a snail trail (full ******) but they don't serve beer, just juice. I suggest you go to Kenny, IL. You can bring your own beer and they leave a snail trail too.
So are you building this one cause you regret selling the other one, or did you always want an early Ford? I thought the other one looked great and I was suprised when you decided to sell it. What motor is this one getting? Hey Aaron, how about calling it HUBBLETROUBLE (TM)?
Actually I was thinking about calling it "Appe***e for Destruction" so it would go well with Drew's "Master of Puppets" Ha Ha Ha
After i turn 18, me you and mel will have a night on the town. haha. thats if you 2 married kids can get away from the house. Ya sam, what motor? nailhead? Nick
yes and yes! mancha, its a '35 ford.. donzie,,on the chevy ,the floor was practically gone,so i just set the cab were i wanted it over the frame then built a innerstrucure out of 1" tubbing for the cab.. the floor in the 35 is nice ,so im not sure how i wanna aproach it yet,,still studying it,,im thinking either,,notch the floor over the frame rails and sit it down where i want it,,or probably best way.. just cut the whole floor out raise it where i need it then weld it back in,,,like i said ,,not sure... later, sam
I was thinking the same thing, cut out the whole floor/subframe and move it up a few inches. Keep us posted as to what you do.
