I have a 54 chevy and I already did the T-5 conversion behind my 261 I6 with a dual Fenton intake and Fenton headers. I also have a 350 sitting on the engine stand that I really want to put in the car and still keep the 5speed with the manual clutch set up. My question is, has anyone out there done this with the V8 T-5 set up on their car? If so What bellhousing did you use? Im thinking that one from a laye 50's car or truck. Please any information will help. Also if I can do this than I will be selling the 261. I will post if needed.

a 55-57 chevy pickup V/8 should have the correct bellhousing or at least close enough for the rear motor mounts...might have to fab some bracketry.
a 60-62 V/8 truck bellhousing with have hydraulic clutch if you want to use one of those...and a 63-72 pickup bellhousing will have a "single bolt" rear motor mount boss on either side of the bellhousing where the earlier ones had 2 motor mount bolts on either side. All pre 72 housings will have provisions for the old chevy 3 bolt starter. I believe they all used the large 168 tooth flywheel.
