My manual says " in low al***udes, the engine will give its best performance if timed according to the Specifications chart." Anybody know where I can find this chart?

    Look on amazon for this:
Mopar Performance "Engines" book, P/N 4452790

Might have the info you are looking for. I haven't looked through it though, since I don't have a hemi. Y'all have a good day,

  4. 53, I have a lot of good friends in N.O., and I must say you cant get any closer to sea level than N.O., in fact some of it is below sealevel, I'm sure you know. Try using a vacuum gauge if anything and back off 2-4 degrees from the highest vacuum reading. TR

    Traditions, thanks.
I just got the car down here from New York and it's been a total re-tune. About a 1200 ft elevation difference.

car nut says v8 low Hp guessing 2bbl, at 2 BTDC, and 4bbl at 4 Btdc

You can always time it with a vacuum gauge. Then it real world according to your current conditions, engine conditions, fuel etc.

Adjust the engine to it spec'd idle rpm. Connect the vacuum gage to the intake manifold, then turn the dist to abtain the highest steady vacuum gauge reading.

Then adjust the idle if need be back to spec'd rpm. Now drive the car, and see if you notice any pinging or spark knock under acceleration or climbing a hill, if so retart the dist till it dissapears, and lock the dist.

  7. Very welcome 53, even the jetting shouldn't be any problem. Now if you brought a car down from the Colorodo Rockies, I would say- Plan B :D
