32 firewalls bolt in and are relativley flat and recessed a little, 33-34 are welded in and bulge out a couple inches, and a 34 cab has the extra beltline on the back (3). thanks for the info larry ill look into that.

    Say whaa? Pinto reference...

  7. My Brother in law has an A sport coupe that he resto rodded in the '70s with that motor. It has never been out and he still drives it, pretty regular.

That truck is pretty smooth. I think its a keeper. With or without the pinto motor.

That looks like the perfect little shop truck for today's world. If you can't come up with a box right away a little Flatbed would be pretty useful and look right on it.

Neat. Keep the Pinto engine, make a bed, lay on a coat of primer and use it as a shop truck/grocery getter.

I did some more searching before I could check back on this thread and it looks like the guys are right the sides are repop...DAMN!! Was hoping I got lucky. The same length louvers are the give away on mine. i also thought about running fenders, i like them both ways, and it came with gl*** fronts. I had a full set at the shop that I was going to get, but when I thought the truck had sold i set the deal up with the owner and my buddy and he ended up putting the rears on his 34..double damn!!

I think hes refering to the gentleman who was rearended and killed a few weeks ago here in L.A. in a roadster pick up, I dont think everyone will get your pinto rear ended joke you may want to edit that post, I thought the same thing when I saw it and was instantly pissed unti I read your reply......

As I remember it, and I think the reason for the reference was that years ago Ralph Nader (or some other safety guru) said that Pintos were unsafe in a rearend collision. Something about the fuel tank rupturing and the possibility of a fireball due to its location.
I hope it wasnt meant the other way!

The pinto motor is about as untraditional as it gets but I'd run it that way myself. Its different. My next project I currently gathering parts for is a 40 chevy pickup thats going to be channeled, chopped, z'd, shortened, unfendered and 153 chevy II 4 cyl powered with a T5. Hey gas aint cheap nowadays.
