Hey guys I thought I would post some pics of my project I have been working on for a while. I know it may not be traditional to some, but i would like to know what you guys think. It has sbc, th350 trans, power steering, disc brakes up front, drop spindles. The original frame was ruined so it sits on a 86 Toyota long bed truck frame. I was able to use the gas tank, brake system (even E brake) for the build.

I like the old wood in the bed. It's a nice touch.

I dont think you could change it to make it better. Its a SUPER clean sharp looking truck. I want to know the color inside (brow/tan) and where the seatbelts are from that is the EXACT color I have in my mind for inside my sedan.

    nice truck
not picking on it but why does the top of the grill droop? i remember running across a fit issue when we tried to use a '40 grill top on a '39 or visa versa. or does it need to be shimmed up?

Thanks guys. It runs down the road great. I wouldn't have swapped frames but I couldn't find another one. The frame that was under it had been subframed and was too wide in the front plus a lot of other issues that were dangerous.

I believe it is the width of the aftermarket grille. Pulling top a little wider making it go down. The original didn't do that, but it was beat up and missing a lot of bars. What did you figure out with the one you were working on.

39/40 Chevy or GMC are my favorite pickup.Except for that grill top hood thing your's is just right,of course if you fix that all you'll have to do is drive.

we used the right grill top. but i can't remember what the exact fit problem we had. i think '40 had more bars and the grill top was shorter or something like that. look for a picture of a '39 and compare the number of bars.

The grille top of mine is 1940 the 39 was thinner and the 39s had one more grille bar. Mine is correct in that respect but it does droop. I have seen quite a few with this same thing. May take grille out and try something.
