Yesterday I started a thread looking for info on So-Mo Speed Shop and their WidowMaker Tri-Power systems. I wasn't totally forthcoming because I don't want to appear to be trashing this guy on this forum. I'm not trying to do so now. I have one of his Rochester WidowMakers that's supposed to be on my '40 Ford P/U. It arrived incomplete, has a few miss-matched parts, and the linkage is not progressive. He advertises a complete system ready to bolt on. No way Jose, as they say, and I've made more than several attempts to contact him (phone messages and emails go unanswered to date). I've got a real bad feeling if you know what I mean. How 'bout it - anybody out there that can help me?
That's interesting, Rod & Custom just did a detailed write up on this set up in the current issue. Looked pretty good to me!
Looked good to me too. He (So-Mo) seemed pretty proud of that write-up when I ordered my stuff. I'm hoping there's a simple explanation that doesn't include a hardship on their part (like a death in the family). So far, over a week and zero responses to any emails or phone messages. Meanwhile I'm doing some detail work on the P/U that's been needin' to be done but I really miss driving it.
SoMo is an Alliance Vendor . You might want to let Ryan know about this. I saw the safety wired choke linkage.........not on my car !! just saying.
The original poster is not an Alliance member... and this wasn't an alliance deal. We have zero complaints on record about SoMo.
Just checked out the "Alliance". Looks like a good deal. In the future I'm going to be acutely diligent when it comes to research before any purchase. Can't go back now, all I can do is learn an expensive lesson. If this doesn't shake out in another week you're going to have your first complaint. I'll keep the H.A.M.B. updated.
