I just went out to verify that what i tell you is right. I measured my 41 coupe and also a 41 sedan that i have for spare parts they are both 104". Hope this helps you out.
P.S. If i haven't said before i will say it now. Very nice HJ gasser you have. Do you have any pics of your willys?

  5. I understand that the wheelbase did change at some point between '37 and '42. Don't have specifics but I am sure someone will chime in shortly with more accurate info.

It is something like '38 rear fenders will fit a '41 but the wheel won't be centered in the fender opening because of the wheelbase difference between the years (or maybe it's front fenders?).

1939 Willys Overland is 102" - the 1939 model 48 is 100". The Overland has the sharknose and hydraulic brakes the Model 48 has the same rounded nose as the 1937 Model 37 and the 1938 Model 38 and has mechanical brakes. The 1941 chassis is significantly modified from the earlier version, being 2" wider from the rear kickup to all the way back. The X member is different and so are the body mounts. The coupe rear fender wheel cutout is approximately 1 1/2" further back in the fender and the gas filler neck comes through the passenger side fender. The fenders are also notched on the inside edge to allow the bumper brackets to pass through due to the wider frame. The rear axle is also 2" wider. So all you need to do now is figure out which body and which chassis you will be using - oh yes and the 1941 coupe floor pan is completely different from the 1937-1940 Willys....

  9. This helps a BUNCH !! I actually have a 41 glass body and an orig. 41 frame, but the springs were gone and the front horns had been modified. I found that Jeep CJ5 rear springs fit after removing half the leaves. I have aftermarket front leafs with a NOS CAE straight axle. Theres only a rear floor around the wheels, so I'll be building that anyway. Other than the different frames my build is very similar to Langlys on here. Don't have too many pics yet as I've been trying to knock out the frame. The body is still outside. I have a Winters quickchange that I'll convert to big bearing Ford axles and stock Ford drums. Scored a quick track diff. for the street. Mine will have a 413/torqflite combo though, rather than a Caddy.
