32 roadster, bench seat. . . Which 4 speed should I use

This has been tough. I've changed engine choices four times and now I'm fixed on my 51 flathead It is the choice of transmission that is driving me crazy. The obvious would have Corvette, Camaro, or the like. Problem is The shifter comes up in my seat. I need a short transmission What are my options? And which is preferrble?

Use a T5 out of an S10 Pickup. It is a 5 speed with the shifter forward thus it will clear the seat. I have one in my '32 behind a flathead, and it works great!
