Find an old parts guy, its one sender with 2 prongs, I bought one a few years ago, It screwed right into my 455.
It showed up for a 56 olds, in the parts books.

Chevy had them through '63, maybe '64, been 33 years since I had a '64. A sender for one of them may work if nobody shows one for the Olds.

Get a parts manual from a parts store for electric devices and look thru the ***orted pictures of temp senders. It will give you the thread size and usually the general application. You are looking for a sender that has two blades and will be in the older book. I know Standard has or had perhaps a Blue Streak catalog that covered all the old stuff. You might find a reference ther for a 2 temp sender for the Olds.

I just put a buddys 64 Impala SS back together, it has a hot and cold indicator. I looked it up by application at the local NAPA. It is a two prong sender. Hope this helps.

Well, if you simply go to RockAuto and look up a temp sender for a 1956 Olds, you get Airtex P/N 1T1061 for $10.50. NAPA and other parts stores should be able to cross that number if you want to buy locally.
