Was going down to the beach in manhattan and there parked in a driveway witha forsale sign was your old RPU you sold at paso a couple years ago. Was gonna snap a few pictures but I didn't have my camera. Man that car still looks *****in.
yeah, there was a little 'discussion' about that car on another cl***ified board not too long ago. i was just over at the house taking some detail photos of the frame and what not....nice. not to thread jack, but how was that frame sweep accomplished?? pie cuts and bends or box plates??
O geez I don't even remember now. Rogue wne t into a lot of detail through the whole build up maybe he weill see this and answer. Its a nice car though
i was emailing with the current owner when i was thinking of buying it a few months ago, but he thought it was made of gold, not steel! asking 22k i think. looks very nice outside, but kinda rough underneith. still a cool little rpu though!
Wow. What a car that was. In its original state, as done by rogue, it really struck a chord with me. I loved it. I thought it was the coolest thing on wheels. The detailing was wonderful. I wish I would have been able (or smart enough, or whatever enough) to buy it when he sold it. --Matt
i never saw it on ebay, but have seen pics with 2 diferent sets of wheels, black 19"s or 21"s & red 16"s i liked it better with the taller wires on it.
Wires are the last thing that should be on that car! The steelies with the killer tires that were on it when Rouge had it at the first Ranch Run ****in RULED! I DIG that little truck! FONZI
I never saw it on ebay. I sawe it in someones driveway on saturday. In its current state it has red 16" wires on it. From a quick glance I believe either the engine or just the intake where changed. everything else seems to be the same.
It seems like the more people that own that truck the more ****ed up it gets. Giant red wires on that slammed truck?? Now the intake is missing?? And finally raising the price way more than it first sold for with nothing more than way more miles on it and scratch marks from something all over the body. Rogue is a friend of mine and used to be in our club. He did a *****en job on that truck, what a shame! OK, I'm done venting, now what's for lunch?
Damn the truck popped up again this weekend at Ink N Iron. Someone painted something on the doors. I shoulda taken a picture. I can't believe this little truck is still around
Think about it though. Makes perfect sense that it is still around. it was built so well in the beginning that outside of wheel/tire change or paint no owner (so far) feels like they could have done it better. I wonder how many hands that truck has p***ed through at this point?
Kevin, good point, It was well built to begin with. I can't even imagine how many hands that truck has been through, I still remember when he sold it at paso.
More importantly. Where is Rogue these days? I miss his straightforward imput on this board. Rogue, you just lurking or are you done with this place? You sure build some neat stuff man!
I sold Jimmy the body , came from rosarito, but the thing was so rusty and ****ed, Jimmy ended up making all new panels, the frame sweep was achieved by making a card board template of the swoop jimmy wanted, he then made four plates and grafted it on to the original frame by cutting out the original sides but leaving the top and bottom of the rails, buck rosson built the killer engine and I remembered Jimmy would just smoke the hides off the truck while he did brodys, James Hetfield almost bought the truck, and I agree with Badfella, they should have left the truck alone, my favorite part of the truck was the lid Jimmy made for it. Jimmy still works at the Jalopy Shop and drives around his late model vette, he is back to building those little suburu cars, Jimmy is a very talented guy and an excelent metal man, I had a ton of fun with him when he was in our club, and I still visit him at work when I get a chance.
Maybe, he blurred out her face So if the wife seen this pic she could not idenify the mistress...LOL....Just poking fun
