I just finshed this and wanted to share it with you guys. It has our new linkage , extended throttle shafts and stainless screw kits. It is set up to run your throttle off the left rear carb and kickdown if necessary and the cross shaft ***embly is in the center to clear the distributor. It is not a progressive set up. Each carb runs 2 cylinders.
do you make something like this for a 392 Hemi? 4x2? In fact, I have been thinking about this for the last few days, on a stock 392, how many dueces can you run on this thing before you over-do it? I have seen 6x2's 2x4's, 4x2's....Can someone shed some light on this one for me?
I have built inductions for early hemis with up to 8 dueces! It really has more to do with how you jet them. I don't have the manifolds but if you have any manifold you want done send it over and I will build it. It can take up to 8 weeks depending on how slammed we are.
Wow personal service and fair prices! Just like the old days. Now all I need is a piss yeller deuce coupe.
Man what a trip, I just got off the phone with a buddy who has had bad luck getting in touch with Vintage Speed for a new tri powere. I looked on HAMB and sent him over to NWspeed after readinf some posts. We specifically discussed how cool the graffitti 4x2looks. Like a minute later there we go...i clicked your new post. Funny stuff. Looks great, best of luck. Any idea if they offer that manifold polished?
Wow...complete with manifold, carbs, linkage and scoops for $1250??? I imagine you will sell a LOT of them!!!
Hey when I posted I didnt realize you were actually the guy from NW speed. Look for a call from Bill Skirvin. He is pretty much my car building hero with projects going on like a 41 Willys, a early Impala, A 48 Pontiac, a 32 Ford chop, and a freaky Anglia pickup thing this intake is for. Hope it works out.
Off topic with the 4x2 chevy intake but what is the 4bbl to 2x2 Adapter made for.. I just bought one for my 302 ford and nothing lines up at all.
Is it one of my adapters? If it is we have two styles, early and late. Call me and I can help you figure it out or get the right one.
jeez, everybody knows Milner ran a Man A Fre I've been meaning to call you about some linkage for multiple 94s, and anything you might divulge about setting them up.. Paul
Ya its one of your adapters, it looks like the one on your web. My 302 is is from a 83 mustang or something.
I'll bet the manifold is set up for a weird ford carb rather than a Holley, Carter or Rochester. If it won't fit you can send it back to me with a tracing or a gasket from your manifold and I can machine on for you.
Are they direct induction like the Man-A-Fre, or are there two plenum chambers? How are they to tune? Do the carb modified, like the Man-A-Fre, or can they be worked on, later, without sending it back? What kind of power increase can a guy expect over a single 4bbl on a 350? What cores do you take in exchange? Any 2G carb or a certain size? Would you like me to road test one for you? I might let me talk myself into one... someday. JOE
I will try to answer all the ?'s in one shot. The carbs are basically a direct port design although the left and right side share a common plenum the fuel still tends to feed the ports the carb is over. There are equalizing tubes in the casting to make it easier to tune. All 4 carbs have idle circuits since each set of cylinders depends on the carbs to idle. Not to hard to set up if you have a unisyn. Power increase is marginal-dramatic depending on the build of the motor. There is a substantial cfm difference with this set-up being 1000cfm. I use the small bore 2jet carbs withthe side inlet and 2 5/8" neck. I have built and sold a few of these with great feedback!
