Have you found this site yet? http://www430.pair.com/p15d24/mopar_forum/index.php Lots of good info there. Good luck with your project.
Greetings from the "other" side of the USA. I am working on a similar project - a 52 B3B and hope to fire it up soon. I will look forward to your progress.
Welcome to the pilothouse group. B3 would make it a heavy duty susp I believe. B1 were the 1/2 tons. what are your plans..
I just finished building the 1964 413 Max wedge motor. Now I have to fit it into the dakota frame. Not sure on the trans yet. I have a 727 and I have a 64 4 speed trans, but I would need to go on a scavenger hunt to find all the linkage. I will try to get up to date with the photos. Thanks for the motivations. I really like the look of this one. I will try to keep all my original paint for now to try and get this look.
Nice ride! There is some Dakota frame info in this thread: http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=513096 A few years apart on the body but some good frame shots.
Nice truck! But I'm partial to the Pilothouses, I have 2 '53's. Depending on where in Central CA you are, I may not be too far away either. Good luck with the build!
Negative. The number designates the generation, and the letter after it designates the duty rating. B1B is 48-49 half ton, B3C is 51-52 3/4 ton, etc.
It looks like ya got a nice specimen to get started with...look for the data plate on the driver door jamb between the hinges, that might yield some information on what ya have such as model & serial number. There is also a serial number on the driver side frame, between the front axle & bumper. Anyhow, have fun with it, there's lots of help on the internets these days.
