Thanks to everyone who came to the show! I agree, it was the biggest and best yet.

My car may be slow, but it wasn't built as a race car either! However, I DID run my best time to date of 15.38 at 90mph.

    On to the Meltdown!

  3. considering that i had Matt from Fox valley hot rods tuning my carbs in the tech line and that the first time i actually floor my car was the straight before you got into the staging lanes i am happy with my times.
At least i was faster than the mini bikes....just bairly....but faster

  6. Once again I had a blastand made a shit load of passes. If I can ever get this Valiant running worth a crap, Ill be thrilled. Its pulling hard as hell off the line, yanking the wheels off the ground, then falls flat on its face. Maybe if im lucky, Ill figure it out by the Meltdown drags.

I had a great time at the Hunnert Car Heads Up and look forward to the Meltdown. I would like to make a suggestion with the flag starts. I'M NOT WHINNING but I was beat by the flag man. I drive a 4 speed car,and the car in the other lane staged before me. As soon as I turned on the seond staging light the flagger waved the flags which did'nt give me a chance to bring the rpm's up to properly launch. I know that it was all for fun and to put on a good show, but if both racers are given a chance to get set it would be closer racing and a better show. I watched alot of the racing and it was decided by the flagger. Maybe next year the flagger can run the races more like they do on Pinks.

I guess you need to stage faster. :D Just kidding! Thanks for the tip. Flagging can be tiring if you're doing it with as much gusto as Sean (OldMuleSkinner) and his girlfriend were, so he may have rushed it a bit. FWIW, I don't think any of us watch pinks, so you may need to fill us in on what's happening in TV Land.

    Thanks for racing!

On Pinks the flagger points at each driver and waits for a head nod from each driver to know that they are ready and on the drop of his hands they go. I can't wait for next years race. You guys put on a great show.
