Here's another tough one for me to identify..This is a set of 2 wire wheels. I've researched and I THINK they are from around 1930 and are possibly Model A? They are 5 lug and are 16" best I can tell. Any input would help.
    Thanks, Michael & Cheryl

If they are in fact 16" wires with a Ford 5-1/2" bolt pattern then they are '35 wires.

Most old wire wheels look the same to many people. Pics are the only way to ID them even if they are 16" and even if they have a Ford lug pattern, My Nash uses Ford pattern for example, but not the same wheel design or hub cap hole size.

Easy way to tell what size it is: Measure the total farthest outside diameter. A 16" wheel measures just about 17.5. A 17" wheel would be 18.5 and so on.

figure out the bolt pattern size: Measure to the center of 2 opposite lug holes as accurately as you can. Then always add 1/4" to that. So, A ford pattern wheel would measure about 5-1/4" PLUS then add-on 1/4", equals 5-1/2" pattern...which is Ford, and a few others.

Most common are straight spoke welded, the bent spoke wheels are $$.
    33-34 are 17" x 3.5"
    '32 18x3.25".

Hub caps changed also (if it's Ford)..28-29 had small caps..30-31 a little larger..32-35..much larger...

ok so we measured them and the lug is 5 1/2 and the diameter measured 18 1/2 so that makes them Ford 17" from what ya'll have told me.. Thanks, any additional information like what they may be worth?

17" in a Ford wheel would mean they are 1933/1934.

17's are not too popular at all if they are Ford wires. Those were 1933 and 1934. Like maybe 20 each at a swap, max. If they were for some rare expensive car, they could go 100 each or more.

how are you measuring the bolt pattern? not saying youre lying but that bolt pattern looks awful small for 5.5. also the hole looks big for a 33 34 ford cap? hard to say tho.

The lug pattern looks like it may be smaller than 5 on 5 1/2! Looks like maybe a 5 on 4 1/2??? Maybe a Chrysler?

  14. They look like Chevy Std's to me-the Deluxe had 6 lugs.

those wheels if they are the 4 3/4 chevy lugs, would be gold to someone with a chevy rear end in a ford. with some 33-34 wheels up front be real hard to tell thats for sure.

Sorry guys my wife was measuring it and obviously she can't use a tape measure. I should have double checked...I'm looking at the 5 lug holes in a star pattern going clockwise I measured number 1 & 3 they are measuring (without adding the 1/4) 4" ... Then from farthest outside diameter is (again no adjustment) 18 1/4".
