Can you guys point me in the right direction for caddy message boards. We are getting our caddy stuff going and I would like to spread the word and get some ideas and tech info. I like to learn as much as I can about the engines I am building parts for and as you know I'm a nailhead guy. Thanks, Marty

Yeah I had looked into that and actually still have the model here but I couldn't get the Caddy 500 guys to really back it so it sits here.

  4. I can't point you anywhere but what about transmission adapters, pilot bearings and flywheels for engine swaps. I am currently looking for this stuff for a 55 Caddy engine to go to a 49-64 Ford transmission. Maybe finned rocker covers that clear big cams and camshafts? I think these are kinda hard to come by.

Seriously? I know of a handful just here in Houston that would kill to have a 6x2 setup on a 472-500. The only current option is to find a BBFord intake and buy the super pricey adapters (similiar to your Nailhead intake risers) to fit the Ford intake to the Caddy. And I still haven't seen that done except with a Hilborn. Maybe I live under a rock but besides the odd Caddy Flathead, who is using the motors in between it and the 472-500's? I've got 3 331's setting in the shop full of oil, and gathering dust. Maybe I need to liquidate or build something to put one in. Keep bringing the innovation Marty, I love it, and we all benefit from it.

I can't wait... it is about time someone makes an effort with these motors. With the cost of original speed parts, I am suprised it has taken any company this long. Let me know when you are ready, I am working on a large Cadillac site and will give you free ad space.
For what it is worth (Not much), my opinion is that you are barking up the wrong tree with caddy boards. Hopped up caddy engines are big with rodders, but the 1948-1962 boards really dont give a heck about performance or dressup parts unless they are factory. They are a very strange group...
I have had classic Cadillacs for over 15 years and that is just the way it has always been with online caddy boards. Now the later caddy groups (1962+) loves to get stuff, and you can see it over the last 8 years with a whole lot of new parts for thier motors.
There is a very good market for early stuff that you are gonna make. I for one will buy stuff from you and I know that there are a bunch of uncounted Caddy guys who want to have extra performance in thier 4000lb+ caddys, but I would say focus on hotrodders and the caddy guys will follow.

Send me a link to your site so I can check it out.

  18. Yes, you have been under a rock.....quite a few early Caddy guys here.

ABOUT TIME!!! I will DEFINITELY buy a set....I bet I could sell a few sets over here too.

I was building a 49-62 Cad motor info site too...but I lost all my info when I changed jobs and didn't save all my stuff off my PC. Intakes, dizzies, trans, cams, pistons, etc.....interchangability, by all makers, etc. If you need any pics of stuff, let me know. I have a few NOS bits.
