Now that I have a grasp on how low it will be and am reworking my 5 slot Ansen style mags, I played around on the computer last night and came up with a few options. These are all pretty close, but I'm looking for feedback.

Matt laquered metalic charcoal, gloss black flames, red pinstripe. No pinstripe on the wheels they look cool as they are.

    Cool truck!

I'd go solid black. The other designs are cool and a little more unique, but its hard to beat a nice, solid black paint job. I really do not like the charcoal paint ideas, but I could live with flames worked in somehow.

I might need to make a version with the red pinstripe and no red on the rims just to see what it looks like.

As far as the difference between the flames and the rest of the body, it may be as simple as semiflat black body and semiflat black with metalflake for the flames. I'm diggin the red on the rims, but implementing it may be an issue too. If I did do it, I'm not sure if I would set the red strip into the wheel up against the flat face at the same level as the lugnuts or bring it forward to the inner most edge of the outer lip.

Not enough contrast for me. I like nice black paint with bold, brash, 'traditional' red/orange/yellow flames with a blue pinstripe.

That's what Brian Boitano would do!

I like the third one, with the red pinstripe on the rims. It hurts me to admit I like the satin black with flames, maybe gloss on the flames, or satin flames, gloss on the rest?

I like that paintjob on the "perfect" hiboy or '57 BelAir ot something like that, but I'm more into subtle and a little sinister...

I love the look of satin black with gloss flames..exactly why i did my truck that way (see avatar).
BUT, i do like the charcoal too. Havn't seen many like that so that's probably why.
Of the 3 choices you offered up, i guess i'd go with #3 as well..

Sorry man, they remind me too much of ghost flames. Never have cared for them. If you're going to flame your ride, you're saying "Hey. Look at me". and that's cool. But with ghost flames its "Look at me, but only in certain light. I'd paint the flames White, then for the impact your wanting, I'd use cold colors. Blues, greens, purples. But hey, that's just my 2c

I never have liked ghost flames either, but I personally don't see these as being the same...

Id go for #3 but instead of red on the wheel I would see about red line tires. not sure what all sizes they come in, but think it would look slick.

ps maybe switch to black rally wheels while youre at it

I'm thinking the red on the wheel ties in well with the pinstriped flames... I just need to figure out if the red on the wheels is going to be pinstriped, sprayed using a mask or possibly anodized.
