Just off the press "Goodguy's is opening up 3 of there events to any year car or truck" If this is true will all the Goodguy followers threaton to rip up there membership cards and threaton to boy cot Goodguy's events. Just 2 years ago a lot of NSRA members where upset because they opened there cut off to 30 years or older. lets hear some comments on this. John M.

Goodguys sets aside certain areas for different kinds of cars. I'm sure they would have a post 1964 area that will fill the venue and you could easily walk around it if you choose.

I would bet with the economy and stuff, attendance rates are down and/or venue costs go up.

Ditto. I only make it to a couple local shows a year. It will never affect me.

    agreed

didn't GoodGuys always have a few venues that had no cut off date? I can page thru my old Gazette issues and find many photos of late model cars, and egads, even imports

    whatever

Go to the show, look at the cars that interest you, move on

You could stay home and just park at Walmart, same thing. Local car show that was PRE 1943 for 58 years just raised their cutoff to 1964, it all about bucks. Hershey is a parking lot of Post WWII vehicles with open hoods, looks like feeding time at the alagator zoo. I miss life as it was in 1964.

seems reasonable to me. They just need to set up diffrent areas for diffrent type of cars.
I cant even start countin how many sweet post 64 cars have been cut off shows in the past years.
You know, they built some bad *** cars from 65 to probably 79, then after that is a diffrent story.

I agree with the ones who say: "Look at what you like, walk past the rest." I have a wide variety of cars I'm interested in, even some of the OT "Late Models". Besides....How many people REALLY fix up Chevettes, Yugos and all the other cars that people are so afraid of parking by?

We all know that NSRA and GG are CORPORATIONS, not car clubs, so they are meant to be PROFITABLE for their owners. As the 2nd generations of these families take over the "family business" I'm sure we'll see many more changes. Just like in any COMPANY.

When they make it like elementary school and start giving awards to everybody that attends, so no one feel bad they didn't win.....Then there's a problem! :)

Who cares? If I don't care for a certain car I just walk right past and go on to the next one, besides I like all types of cars, not just "Hot rods". The last cruise I attended a new Camaro with a ton of mods caught my eye. I am not saying I would like to own it, just that I can enjoy eye F#%king it just the same.

It doesn't matter to me what they let in. I'll still be driving either my Nomad or '47 Ford.

    Just the facts:

For those three events, the "late models" will only be allowed in on Sunday, and no imports.

Something that hasn't been mentioned. If you take your perfectly-crafted hot rod to a non-cutoff event with a lot of participation (such as the GG gigs). Maybe that gold-chainer dehorn with no more originality than to buy one of the new retroCamaros will be strutting around, see your car, stop to look, realize how nice it is to not only have something a bit different than the next guy at the traffic light, but that he could (with YOUR car in mind) hit the vendors' kiosks and find that for what he paid for that psuedo-muscle-street machine he could actually construct something that would be quicker, less h***le and might put him in a fraternity of car folks without those pencil-thin moustaches, ironed shirts and manicured nails. That way, the hot rod companies would gain a new customer, and the rodding and/or custom cultures would acquire a new participant. Win-Win? perhaps. Lots of young kids attend these shows also (the ones driving the coffee-can weed-eaters), maybe their 'creative' juices could be enhanced by actually getting to take a close look at what a REAL hot rod is.
