Event Coverage 2011 Seattle Blessing of the cars.

This coming father's day June 19th at Carkeek park in Seattle Washington the Bishops CC will be hosting the eleventh annual Blessing of the cars!

Come on down for some family style BBQ, some great bands (People Bomb and the Shivering Denizens are playing this year.) and a little bit of tongue in cheek rodligious healing by Reverend Jack.

This year all donations from the blessings are going straight to the VA. So come down and show some support.
This event is always a good time and it seems like we may actually have some good weather this year!

 

I'll be there....the only question is what to bring....

I'll be there for sure, my car really NEEDS a blessing. Carkeek is one of my favorite parks in Seattle, and a great place for a car scene. Are they gonna let us park on the grass?

Usually we do this guerilla style, we've parked on the grass for pictures in the past bus mostly we just use the lower parking lot.

I will be coming straight from SEATAC - Lizzy and the kids are going to pick me up on the way to the Blessing... couldn't think of a better way to spend Father's Day! It'll also be my last romp with the W. Coast Bishops - the movers start packing us the next morning, and then we're off to VA.

I am retracting my statement of being there. Had a good friend die yesterday. He's Jewish so we need to bury him within 3 days. today is to soon. Saturday is the Sabbath, which leaves Sunday. No father should have to bury his son on Fathers day.

+/- 24 hours to the 2011 Blessing of the Cars in Carkeek Park!!!!!! Bringing the whole family - plenty o' food, beer, and a couple of kick ass bands... what better way to spend Father's Day? Weather might just hold... then again, anything would be better than the cold, wet experience last year!

I'll be there in my SWB D100 unless while I'm asleep someone installs the new harness, brakes, and welds in new floors in my 56 Olds. If that happens I will drive the Olds.
