Hello all! My name is John, and I thought I'd drop in to say hello! I took over Specialty Cars about a year and a half ago, and am in the process of getting the shop back up and running! I specialize in custom metal shaping in both steel and aluminum, as well as detail fabrication and precision TIG welding of everything from Mild Steel to Titanium and Inconel. I am also a dealer for Winter's rear ends, Coker Tire, Dayton Wire Wheels, Fragola hose and ends, FK rod ends, Genuine Stromberg Carburetors, Motul oils, and many others. I'm in the process of setting up an Alliance Vendor deal...so look for some killer discounts and H.A.M.B.-only deals in the near future! While most of my work to date has been bodywork for El Mirage racers and cage updates, I'm about a month into a from-scratch car build that should turn a few heads! I'll throw up a few pics as I get close to the reveal date! I look forward to contributing as much as I can to the community, and hopefully learning a few things along the way! Best, John K.
Welcome to the Hamb from another So Cal Shaper! You will find the Hamb a great resource for a lot of things. Enjoy and good luck with the venture.
Hey all! Thanks for the kind greetings! Below are a few pics of work I've been doing. - First is a pic of a '41 Willys rear fender I'm making from scratch, from a buck I constructed based on two original fenders...a little more work left, but the first third is coming along. Second and third are pics of the front hoods and interior tin work done for a '31 5-window comp. coup I did for a fellow Rod Rider - Fourth pic is of an aluminum cafe seat I made for a CB160 AHRMA racer I'm building. The hump is comprised of a left and a right half, welded to the seat base. More to come!
