So I get tons of PM about my avatar it's Susie the little blue coupe a walt Disney cartoon post ww2 were a life after various owners and a probable life sentence at a local junk yard, Susie gets sold to a young snot nosed hot rodder and is hopped up and happy in the end.
From what I've heard they based the new cars movies from this cartoon.

There's also another hot rod cartoon called one cabs family where a family of taxi cabs has a rebel son who wants to be a hot rod and not a cab. In the end he decides to be both a hot rod cab.

I remember the Taxi one & one very close to the same story involving airpalnes but do not remember any others. I am looking forward to more post on the thread.

Of course I remember Susie the little blue coupe. Not only the cartoon but Disney had a 45rpm record of the story along with a read along book. I had dozens of these book as a boy but Susie was far & away my favorite. Your avitar brings up found memories of my childhood everytime I see it.

I was looking for the Cab one forever! I thought it was Warner Bros not MGM.

Mom used to read Susie the Little Blue Coupe (a Goldenbook) to me when I was little. It was my favorite and may have sparked my whole interest!

I remember a long while back when the wonderful world of Disney aired on Sunday nights watching a short film where a guy was pinstriping a car and the stripes took off and went all over the car. Does this sound familiar to anyone?

Another one no one has mentioned is a Model T like car that likes to race a train then gets old and a kid buys it and "hot rods" it and it races a train again. Kinda like Susie and Lil Cab combined. I think it is older like from the late 30s maybe.

The pinstripe race is the beginning of "Dad Can I Borrow the Car" from Disney. Early '70's live action and animation. One of many that might explain my automotive fever...
