So, Ive searched, and havent been able to find an answer for this question.

I have a Signal-Stat 900 Sigflare I plan on wiring into a Reble Wire harness (anyone do this yet? I dont have the truck with me, but I know the harness has its own flasher and such, and is set up differently than the SS.)

But my real question is this, there is a red wire the a green tracer that from diagrams Ive found, is supposed to be wired into the headlight switch. Im wondering what this wire actually does... does it supply power through the switch for parking lights? If so, how does that work, when the rest of the wires are only wired to the Major (bright) side of a bulb, or even a 1156 style bulb that is only bright with one filament? In the truck my switch came from, this wire wasnt used at all, as the truck had add on turn signals.

    Thanks for any help.

I don't have any info right in front of me , but with all of the signal-stats I've wired up , they've had nothing to do with the headlight switch . They use the brakelight switch wire , but not the headlight switch .

  3. Is the Signal Stat a 7-wire unit?

Ive wired a couple like that too. But this one has this one wire that goes to the headlight switch also.

Here is the diagram that matches the wiring on my switch.

Also, it says 800 on the diagram, but my switch housing clearly says 900. And it has 8 wires, including this red/green wire. But again, this wire wasnt used in the truck the switch came from, it was wired up with just the standard 7 wires.

This diagram is for vehicles with single filiment front parking lights. The standard bulbs serve "double duty" same as the rear brake light filiments. If you use dual filiment bulbs in front you don't use this wire.

Could it be for a dash flashing indicator bulb?

That is an easy diagram to follow and that wire is for the parking light dual filament bulbs within the headlights. If you want a dash flashing indicator bulb use the lead that is the stop light in back. I used two indicator lights, one for left, one for right.

So, according to the diagram, the SS borrows the filament from the parking light single filament bulb when in left or right turn positions, and if in parking light position on headlight switch the bulb acts as a parking light. Interesting scenario: what happens when the parking lights are selected by headlight switch and the SS is in left or right position? Does the turn signal blink or is steady lit? I am thinking that the switch only selects the parking light aspect when the SS is in the middle OFF position (both lights). When in the left or right positions, the opposite to selected is parking light. Correct????

Guess this is for the really old cars without turn signals and only parking light bulbs. I have a Hudson Super Jet that is like that, but I chose to update using dual filament sockets for the front parking/turn signals. I have an original JetLiner turn signal switch and want to use that. Fortunately the STOP filaments at rear are wired separately from dash to back, so no new wiring there, only the fronts. I am rewiring the stuff under hood so two more wires is no biggie.

I recently wired an 8 wire Signal Stat 800 so tat my single filament parking lights will flash when I indicate a turn. Also this switch has another lever right underneath the signal indicator which is for 4 way flashers.
