koooool car love the roof thinkin about buildin some the like it for my A BOMB roadster truck its built with a 28 closed car cowl.I personally like the smooth look of this cowl and you dont have to do alot of cuttin and weldin to fill in where the tank was. This is the newest pic of mine I think it would be cool to have a roof for a chilly day or a long trip. later Shoe
Jim, awesome car. Did you ever find the paint stores and stuff that I told you about. I hope you're liking Spokane.
Yes I found them, thanks. And we Love Spokane. There is actually a few doner cars still around. Much better choices than socal has.
I live in spokane, if you are close by give me a call and come check it out. You can get my number from www.jimsibley.com
Jim, So your a northwest guy now. Cool. If ya get over to the Seattle/Tacoma area this year make sure to look some of us up.Nice job! I dig it.
Jim Nice work on the 29, but I look at Marvins door work somehow that does'nt look like something you would do?
Marvins car was an old race car. We wanted to leave a lot of the rough stuff, so as to not ruin the early racecar thing. Also I did marvins whole body, and paint in a couplse of days to get him to a show he really wanted to hit.
Decided to put an update on the 29. I have made a cowl induction system for it. The cowl will be louvered in cl***ic olskool style, and the airbox will be only on it when the hood is on. Tell me what you think. Keep in mind this car is going to the salt and I did this to try to pull some of the air off of the windshield. Hopefully this will lessen the drag and increase the air to the carbs. Jim
Please correct me if I'm wrong, but depending on where the pickup point is in relation to the windscreen, wont this work in reverse, and actually siphon out the air as it p***es over? Congrat's this far none the less, looks great... Cheers, Drewfus
That is correct, but the pickup point will be at the base of the widshield. In theory this is where the wind will be swirling, and in need of a place to go. I have a partner on this project and he is an engineer for ***an aerospace. He has done a bunch of figuring and says this will work. Im just happy to be doing things that others dont on a car that will hopefully go REAL fast. Heres a pic of the car as it sits now. just thought I would include it.
Super job on the car. I can hardly wait to see it done. It's different and different is good when it's done with this much crafsmanship. Frank
Lookin good Jim. I found some pics online of a 27 coupe on 32 rails that you did. Do you have anymore build pics of it?
is vic murphy big in the hot rod world? i remeber seeing a pic of a car he built in an older ride bmx. Weather he is or not he owns the tabletop. nuke em
VERY COOL - nice work, did you ever positivley i.d. that rear end you brought home with the other parts?? curious to know what it is...
Jim, That's some incredible work that you've done on that car. I'm curious about the section of window frame left on the front of the doors. Are you going to use roll-up windows, and how will they work with the top/rear of the window frame on the roof? I've thought about something like this for a '29 pickup cab w/ tudor doors. *****6
Super sweet job Jim!!! What color are you going with?? I would like a little more info (please) as to what part of the top came from what car/truck??? Also it looks like you added some to the top of the quarters.
34trk, I did stretch my qtr tops 4". The roof is made from a 52 chevy car, a 29 ford 4door door door and a 1937 chevy pickup cab. If you want more info I would be happy to share pics and info with you. Email me if you like. Jim
