Hey, I just installed a pertronix ignitor in my late model flathead. It fires up and runs fine, but I "boogered" up the grommet supplied that the wires run through on the distributor. I need to get a replacement. Anybody have a trick to get that in place in one piece. I got impatient and poked it from the inside with a screwdriver, and tried to pull it from the outside with needle nose pliers until the thing was in pieces. So I just ripped it off and am running without it, but that is not good. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yea you gotta be real carfull with those. I had hell with mine. It's there to keep **** and water out of the distributor. I think you might glue the broke one with silicone, or maybe find something that will work at a good auto part house or hardware store.

Good thing you posted this tip. I bet he's been waiting five years to drive his car.
