    39 or 40, 38 and earlier had a one piece windshield.

    does it use, clutch head bolts[chevy] or philips[gmc]? is the dash flat where the gauges mount[39] or are the gauges in a panel on a curved dash[40]? is the side view mirror mounted on the hinge [39] or to the door above the window[40]?

    tb33 is right, 39 and 40 dashes are completely different. 39 was kind of a transition year.

    I have a 40 the windshield and top all look the same my fire wall the indentions are more crossed not vertical

    it should, hinges may be frozen crank is in the center of the dash board. do not force! you will strip the gears i the mechanism. get the hinges loose first. do you have a picture of the dash

    yes '39. treat the windshield crank gently. truck looks in better shape than my '39 good luck with it
