Interesting 1947-1953 Chevy Grille Guard?

Anyone ever seen one of these things? Did a quick internet search and didn't see any and I have never came across them before.

I just bought a '49 1/2 ton Chevy truck a couple weeks ago and then my girlfriends dad was digging through his barn the other day and found this so he sent me the picture. Didnt know if they were rare/desireable or what.

Hey if you dont put it on your truck put some metal meshing on the back side and put in front of your fireplace.

Hah, I'll tell him that. Not many fireplaces in FL, but he lives in IN so right up his alley. Not the right style for my truck but I was just wondering about it since I'd never seen one.

 

Homemade...thought maybe too but he said his cousin also had one hanging in his garage.

Yikes. I'd sell that on ebay as quickly as I could.

 

I would be ashamed to put that crap on ebay. I would cut it up and sell it to the nearest recycling center so China can use the metal to build more stuff to sell back to us.

 

it's a branding iron for REALLY big farm animals.

 

I never said it was pretty, haha. But you never know...everyone has their own taste.

I had a guy message me about it and said he thought it might be an original dealer option.

 

I'd put it in front of my fireplace !!
