Getting parts to Brazil

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by evilkazeevil, Jun 22, 2011.

  1. I have shipped plenty of parts to Europe and even cars, but never South America. Anyone do it? Know of a shipper? I got a guy needing some 53 Buick and 48 Chevy parts and I am not sure whats the best way to get them to him.

Guess it may depend on size and weight. I shipped all the internals of a Ford OD transmisson to Argentina a year or so ago by U.S. Postal Service. That was the method suggested by the purchaser and it went without a hitch.....so far as I know.

Had to fill out a declarations form at the Post Office which was fairly detailed but nothing surprising considering it was an international shipment.

Just remembered, several years before, I sent some Dodge trim parts to a fellow in Brazil and I think they also went USPS.

edit: getting paid was another matter. Buyer sent money via Western Union and I had to know the EXACT amount due me or they didn't want to give me the money. Well, I did know what I asked him to send, but unknown to me, for some reason it was changed by a small amount, therefore, what I said didn't match their figure and I had to get a supervisor involved to get the issue resolved.
