What a fantastic bunch of models! Thank You for posting them. That Ardun powered roadster is my favorite.
Thanks Lyle Willits. Wowsville! There all nice as can be- The '69 Cad rocks. I restored a Johan '67 Coupe de Ville once, (as a wedding car), in white, hood ribbons, lil' flowers in the parcel shelf n' all. Came out nice. Some ***hole broke in & stole it. Anyway.. long-term w.i.p. '34; from AMT kit. Heavily modded.
Here's a '53 ford I've been messing with. Lots of styling cues stolen from Jimmie Vaughan's '54. I used the kit side trim as filler for the sides & smoothed them into the body lines. I smoothed the bumpers & removed the grill center section, but kept the grill surround. The grill surround trim will be chrome, not molded into the body. I modified custom grill bar from the AMT '56 Ford kit by cutting it away from the grill mesh & decreasing the overall width. I also modified the kit skirts by adding material to the top & front edge of them. Lowered spindles up front & 3" lowering blocks in the rear. Appleton spots & handles from Replicas & Miniatures, tires from Modelhaus. Fabricated some taillight housings to look like frenched 56 Olds units. Taillights from some Johan parts tree I had. It will probably have side trim very similar to a '54 Ford.
Two of the three models from last weeks post have been worked on. The "T" sedan has not been touched. The '40 sedan delivery had some runs sanded out of the paint and was re-polished with "scratch out", the windshield, vent window trim and the running boards have been painted and the wheels swapped back from the Plymouth. The '41 Plymouth just came out of the paint shop and has its original wheels back. fortypickup: No, didn't chop them ...
Great stuff, Lyle. Chatted briefly with your wife today at Winfield F.D. Show. Nice lady. Your new ride looks even better in person than in the photos. Have fun with that MoPar.......Don.
I found a couple kits at a resale shop recently. The Pinto funny car & firetruck were ***embled, but the Mercedes is unbuilt.
Nice work this week, and im also liking the Ardun Deuce. Some time ago, i sold these two roadsters, which i built several years back, as a pair. A good friend saw them for sale yesterday, and brought them back for me.
Can anyone help me see Steve's work please? All I get are three blue question marks. Does this mean I haven't paid my bill? Rest of the models are great, thank you. Rod
What do you think guys???? Should I start on a replica of this one??? I'll use the new Revell 5W Deuce kit as my subject and the 409 motor from the AMT '62 Bel Air kit with a kit bashed blower setup from the "huge" parts box..
