i am trying to find out the center to center dimensions of a pitman arm on a dodge power steering box. i have a genuine part number of :3492214. suits ( as far as i know) 72-78 d150 and also ram 350 1991 model and possibly others. i also need to know how much offset or drop and whether it drops down or steps up. i have only found one or two pics in my searching of the net in general and have not really got much other info apart from what i have already mentioned. there is one on evilbay but the guy selling it cant or wont answer any questions for whatever reason so i cant ask him, which would be handy just about now. i want to use this arm on a different box in a different vehicle so its kinda a hot roddy type of situation!! any help much appreciated. thanks........
I can take some pictures and make some measurements on a 1980 D150 for you tomorrow. Just so i'm clear - you need the following info: 1) offset (drop) 2) as installed - drop down or step up 3) any installed pictures 4) center to center length Anything else?
hey, thanks for your reply.yes all those things you listed would be fine but mainly the amount of drop (preferably down) which i think this arm has a small amount, maybe 1/2 - 3/4 of an inch or so, center to center length and which way the tie rod end taper is facing which is not so critical , i can sort that end out no probs but i think from the limited pics i have been able to find that the tie rod end faces up with the nut on top of the arm. also, viewed from the tie rod end of the arm is there any angle or twist left or right at the tie rod end .pics would be good if possible. thanks for your help, very much appreciated
thanks guys, chev pickup pitman arm has a rod end in it otherwise that would be an option, thanks squirrel. thanks 51pontiac for the pics, just what i required. much appreciated guys........
