After doing a thorough search here i have come to the conclusion that the Holley Teapot carb i have on my 55 Lincoln y blook is dangerous not to mention is is running like ****. Could someone recommend a decent direct bolt on carb for a replacement. I was at the local parts house the other day looking at carbs ...but i was going to have to buy adapters and other parts to make a Edlebrook bolt on. If anybody has a carb for sale let's talk Thanks for the help

Both Rochester 4GCs and Carter WCFBs from early Oldsmobiles, Cadillacs, and nailhead Buicks had the same small bolt pattern that your teapot has.

have a 55 Lincoln with 341.Gave up on the teapot and put an Edelbrock 600 with electric choke.Got the adapter plate drilled and countersunk the hardware made a new linkage and modified the fuel line and she has never run better

  5. They are only dangerous when they are drooling all over the place. But if yours si not runing well and you aasre not up to an overhaul on a less than optimum carb than a replacement is worth while.

Rochestor 4 jet and carter wcfb is a bolt on. I think you can run a carter AFB but you will need an adapter if I am not mistaken.

Get ahold of Carbking he can probably give you a whole list of carbs that will interchange and may even have one ready to go.

  8. If you change the teapot carbyou should also change the dual advance distributer for a 57 up single advance one. Oldwolf

You might look for a 56-57 Mercury WCFB. They are the same base and maybe the same linkage. Nice carb.

No. The small bolt pattern that the early 4 bbls used was phased out completely by 1958 with the exception of some Ford medium duty trucks that, for reasons unknown to me, stuck with a governed version of the teapot.

Ok, a buddy has an autolite 4bbl on his 312 that he put on it, he must have the holley pattern cast iron intake then. Lippy

Some '57 Y blocks actually came with a 4100 rather than a Holley.

Just pic up a larger pattern manifold and run any Holley carb that you want to.
