I am trying to find one of the smaller size 8 volt batteries in the Houston (south of Houston area). The larger golf cart style will be to large. Thanks for any help
Unless you are doing something very different, I suggest you troubleshoot your electrical system first.
There is nothing an 8 volt system can do that a 6 volt can't do, except screw up your electrical system. Treat the cause, not the symtoms........... Ray
I did this with a truck years ago. Easy, economical way is to go to a battery rebuilder and have them build one for you. I got mine in Pasadena, don't remember from whom. Worked just super, I used everything on the truck, incl. the starter--it only lasted about 5 years. Just don't grind it, besides it'll spin the thing like crazy. Loved it. cooger
You really don't need to go down the 8v road.. I had great sucess with an Optima 6v battery in a 1931 Ford... at 9 years of age it still spun the engine over fast. Dad's A has a 8v battery; Other than burn out bulbs it doesn't do anything better than mine.
