Does anybody know where to get those cool pipe-organ speaker grills that were so cool in the 60's? Like those on this 1960 El Camino http://boburl.com/1174. Gotta make them from scratch? Or does somebody sell new ones?

    Thanks!

Those are crazy! Never seen them before. Speakin of rare items, anyone ever heard of a "bermuda bell" ? Apparently they sat on the trans tunnel in front of the seat and made a kinda "bong" sound while stopping and accelerating. My dad is 72yrs young and remembers them back in the 60's but in all the shows we've went to I have yet to see one. Any thoughts, pics, anyone have one in thier rod?

They are on E-bay every now & then. Go for about $200.

I remember model car kits with those organ pipes. I would bet Speedway has those.

Cool, thanx for the tip. I'll have to keep an eye out for one. $200 might be more than I could spend, but my old man would get a kick out of it!:D

Bermuda Bells mounted solid under the floor boards, usually driver side. They had a mushroom shaped plunger that was inserted thru a hole in the floor board. Made a loud "Ding-Dong". The plunger could be kept in the "jockey box" so you could deny to the cops you knew anything about it. Think the originals cost $10-12. If you find a real one, Chili Phil needs it!!!!!!!!.....................OLDBEET

I remember seeing them in the early '70's on lowriders.
I know they were plastic then because the Arizona sun and clear windows would melt the tubes and they looked pretty funny to a 6 year old.

A few outfits sell them now. They're plastic. I've seen them at swap meets for about $20.00.
Check anyplace that sells that fuzzy dice and curb feeler shit.

    Or, do something original. Hence---

    www.thenightprowlers.com
    Great people, lousy web-site :D

You have to hunt for them on their site. They are under "knobs" on the inventory page...

I was just telling my budy about these yesterday. I googled them and found them for like 19.99 somewhere, but now I can't seem to find them as easy. go-kat-go has them for 39.95 but I know there out there cheaper.

anyone know where to get the skulls with the turn signal red eyes and the white cat?dog? with the turn signal eyes?.My uncle had the organ pipe speakers and the cat thing in the back window of his custom 61 impala

  25. The original organ pipes had a textured design in the flat part, the repops didn't bother to have this detail and don't look that original once you see real ones. I always though making some out of polished aluminum or chrome tubing would look cool.

I think J.C. Whitney had those pipes also... Look'em up!

  28. 8 foot piece of PVC is pretty cheap..... make them out of that and spray paint 'em your color of choice. Use PVC cement to stick them to a piece of hobby shop styrene cut to match your speaker holes and drilled out. Not as fancy as the chrome looking ones, but you can say you made it yourself. In fact, it probably wouldn't be too bad to make them out of metal either.... cut up an old lawn chair for the tubing and it would cost nothing at all.

I wouldnt make them out of metal... pretty heavy on top of your speakers... the originals I believe were plastic... Night Prowlers is the best place to get them :)

  30. Got the speaker grills covered. The Bermuda Bell clanged much like the old street car sound. They mounted on the floor and you stepped on the plunger to ring it. My Dad had one on his 48 fFord coupe, it was cool. ~sololobo~
